81 Years – A Sacred Historical Milestone
Eighty-one years ago, at Ba Dinh Square in Hanoi, President Ho Chi Minh read the Declaration of Independence, proclaiming the birth of the Democratic Republic of Vietnam and opening a new era for the nation – an era of independence and freedom.
Since then, September 2 has become Vietnam’s National Day, a significant occasion for Vietnamese people to turn their thoughts toward the Fatherland, commemorate President Ho Chi Minh, and pay tribute to generations who sacrificed for the nation’s independence, freedom, and peace.
National Day is also an occasion to reflect on the nation’s long and arduous yet glorious historical journey, while continuing to promote patriotism, solidarity, and a sense of responsibility in the development and advancement of the country.
